The Blue Lagoon is located a short distance from the fishing port of Grindavík on the Reykjanes peninsula in the southwest. The Blue Lagoon is today one of Iceland’s most popular tourist attractions. It is created by water from the nearby Svartsengi geothermal power plant. Its warm, mineral- rich waters are said to be effective in the treatment of psoriasis and a variety of other skin complaints and it is certainly a great place for swimming and bathing.
Please note that it takes about 45 minutes to drive to the Blue Lagoon from the Capital area.
Duration: 3 hours (Approx 2 hour stop at the Blue Lagoon)
